What's Included in a Junk Removal Quote
Updated October 1, 2026
A junk removal quote in Roscoe typically includes the truck, fuel, labor, carry-out from wherever the items sit, loading, and disposal or donation fees for what's being hauled. It does not include demolition of attached structures, hazardous material handling, or items requiring a licensed specialist, which get flagged separately.
What's priced in
A standard quote covers everything between 'point at it' and 'it's gone': the carrying, the loading, the drive to wherever it's sorted, and the disposal or donation fee for that specific load. For a single item, that's the whole job. For a larger load, it's priced by how much of the truck it fills, adjusted for how far it had to be carried.
What normally isn't included
Breaking down a built-in structure (a deck, a shed attached to the house, cabinetry that's screwed to a wall) is demolition work, not haul-away, and gets quoted separately if it's part of the job. Hazardous material, wet paint, solvents, pesticides, asbestos, is never part of a general junk quote; Winnebago County runs a household hazardous waste program for exactly that material, and it has to go there instead.
Why the number is fixed before loading starts
The whole point of a walk-through or photos up front is to avoid a number that changes once the crew sees the job. A quote based on an honest description of volume and access should hold. If something genuinely wasn't part of the original description, a second load found behind a shed, for example, that gets flagged before it's loaded, not added to the bill afterward.
